Camden's thumb
As some of you may already know, Camden has had this thing where he keeps his left thumb tucked inside his finger almost all the time, and he has been doing this since day 1. So Eric took him to the physical therapist yesterday to get it checked out. We have already had it Xrayed to make sure that nothing was messed up as far as bones and joints. ANYWAY, it appears that Mr. Boogie Shoes is double jointed in both of his thumbs. Anyone know where that trait came from??? But that is not what is causing the thumb thing though. Apparently, his muscles from his neck all the way down his left arm and into his thumb are very tight. The PT seems to think it is a result of the way he was cooped up inside of me for 9 months!!! So we have to massage his little thumb and arm throughout the day. We also are supposed to make an effort to hand objects to him in his left hand. AND, they have ordered him a little splint to wear to keep that thumb out. That should be a load of fun. He hates wearing a diaper much less a splint. We'll have to find a way to keep him distracted.
On another front, I believe that Camden is going to skip crawling and just go to walking. If we put him up against the coffee table, he can pretty much scoot around that thing in no time. He really gets his feelings hurt though if he gets wobbley or heaven forbid he fall. If he falls, he gets really clingy for about 3 minutes and then he wants to stand back up and creep some more.
It is so amazing to see how much that boy has learned.
